Our Process

The following illustrates the general workflow we use when building websites.

First Steps

After filling out a survey form, we will discuss the general outline of the design process as well as your business needs. Pretty much everything on this page will be covered in greater detail in the meeting. We will likely have questions for you at this point. Once we have all the information, we can work out a plan and cost estimate.

The Design

Next, we will ask for you to provide us with assets such as the logo, pictures, text, videos, and a list of your favorite websites (for referencing, if applicable). With this information, we will design a home page and sub-page mock-up basing our design off the assets we have received. We can share our thoughts at this point and make sure we are on the same page and make any necessary changes if needed. Additional pages can be mocked-up as well if requested.

The Build

Once you give us the green light, we start building the website. We begin by setting up the hosting environment, and then we move on to building each page, starting with the home page. This phase tends to involve the least amount of communication, and it is also the longest. That is because this is where the magic happens, and contrary to popular belief, magic can take time! This is probably the most exciting part since you can finally see your site come to life. The build will continue until every page is complete and has been thoroughly tested.

Review and Feedback

Here’s your chance to make some final tweaks to ensure that your website is exactly what you want it to be. We will make at least two rounds of revisions for you. If any more revisions are needed, no problem – we will simply continue at the hourly rate. Upon completion, if interested we can teach you how to update the content of the website and create a supplemental guidebook in PDF format. The guidebook can later be updated if there are new features added by us down the road.

Maintenance

While our WordPress websites are built so that you can add and update the content yourself, we can help out in this department as well. We would be happy to assist with content writing/editing, new features, plugin updates, graphic design, and whatever else is desired. Let us know your needs and we can work out a maintenance plan together.
