This tool aids in condensing your thoughts, feelings, and observations into a coherent and appealing review format. It also serves as a reflective tool, helping you to process and articulate your experience with the media you’ve just consumed. Basic Usage

To get started with the Media Review Aide, simply mention the title of the media and then share your thoughts about a piece of media. Adding the media type (e.g. book, movie, etc.) and year can be useful as well if there are multiple versions of it. You can offer your observations in any format that feels natural to you, from structured lists detailing what you liked and didn’t like to more spontaneous, stream-of-consciousness reflections (try using voice dictation). The key is to include specific details about your experience, such as:

  • What stood out to you?
  • How did you feel about the plot, characters, or themes?
  • Were there any particular elements (like graphics, score, or gameplay) that impressed or disappointed you?

Keep in mind that while this GPT will likely get you 80% of the way there, you may want to review it over and make some final edits yourself to ensure it accurately conveys your thoughts and perspectives.

Examples

Jurassic Park (1993, film) – So, um, I finally watched Jurassic Park, the original one from ’93, and wow, uh, the dinosaurs really hold up. The CGI, I mean, it’s pretty amazing for its time. The plot, though, kinda predictable, but that’s okay. Jeff Goldblum, he was great, really stood out. Oh, and the, uh, score, John Williams, right? Superb. But, the kids were kinda annoying, not gonna lie. Overall, solid movie.

Having recently viewed the original Jurassic Park from 1993, I was pleasantly surprised by the enduring quality of the film. The use of CGI to animate the dinosaurs remains impressively convincing, a testament to the groundbreaking work of its time. Although the plot tends towards predictability, this element scarcely lessens the overall enjoyment of the film. Jeff Goldblum delivers a particularly memorable performance, distinguishing himself with a unique charm amidst the backdrop of prehistoric marvels. The score, masterfully composed by John Williams, is superb, enhancing the cinematic experience with its majestic themes. A minor critique would be directed towards the portrayal of the children, whose characters did not resonate as well with me, coming across as somewhat irritating. Nonetheless, considering the film as a whole, it stands as a solid and commendable piece of cinematic history.

1984 (book) – Just finished reading 1984, the novel, not the year, obviously. George Orwell, he, um, he really nailed it. The whole Big Brother concept, it’s terrifying but fascinating. The writing’s a bit dense, took me a while to get into it, but, uh, worth it. Julia and Winston, their story, kinda tragic, but really makes you think about freedom, privacy. Oh, and the ending, didn’t see that coming. Powerful book.

Just finished delving into George Orwell’s masterpiece, “1984,” and I’m left both terrified and fascinated. Orwell’s conception of Big Brother perfectly captures a dystopian reality that feels all too plausible, making it a compelling, if not unsettling, read. Admittedly, the writing style is dense, and it took some effort to fully immerse myself in Orwell’s envisioned world. However, the investment in time and concentration was undeniably worth it. The narrative of Julia and Winston is not just a tragic love story; it’s a profound exploration of concepts like freedom and privacy, urging readers to reflect on these themes in their own lives. The ending caught me completely off guard, adding a final, powerful punch to an already impactful book. “1984” is a classic that resonates deeply, challenging its readers to consider the fine line between dystopian fiction and potential reality.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Where do I start? First off, the open world is just, uh, breathtaking. Nintendo really outdid themselves. You can literally go anywhere from the get-go. Climbing mountains, paragliding, it’s all so freeing. The puzzles, they’re clever, not too hard but make you think. Combat’s fun, especially once you get the hang of dodging and, uh, parrying. Story’s good, classic Zelda, but I wish there were more interactions with the main characters. Sometimes it felt a bit, uh, lonely? Also, the cooking mechanic is oddly satisfying. Experimenting with recipes was a fun side quest on its own.

“Zelda: Breath of the Wild” isn’t just a game; it’s an experience that redefines what it means to embark on an open-world adventure. Nintendo has indeed surpassed expectations, creating a vast, immersive world that’s truly open from the moment you begin. The freedom to explore every nook and cranny of this beautifully designed landscape, from scaling towering mountains to paragliding across expansive vistas, encapsulates the essence of adventure and exploration.

The game’s puzzles strike a perfect balance between challenge and accessibility, engaging the player’s problem-solving skills without ever feeling insurmountable. Combat is another area where “Breath of the Wild” shines, offering a satisfyingly deep and rewarding system. Mastering the art of dodging and parrying brings a dynamic edge to battles, making each encounter a thrilling test of skill.

While the storyline holds true to the classic Zelda formula, providing a solid and enjoyable narrative, there’s a noticeable desire for more character interaction. This occasional sense of solitude can detract from the game’s otherwise vibrant and engaging world. On a brighter note, the cooking mechanic emerges as an unexpectedly delightful aspect of gameplay. The joy of experimenting with different ingredients to discover new recipes adds a layer of depth and enjoyment, serving as a charming diversion from the main quest.

In essence, “Zelda: Breath of the Wild” is a masterpiece that combines freedom, innovation, and a touch of nostalgia, to deliver an unforgettable gaming experience. Its minor shortcomings do little to diminish its overall brilliance, making it a must-play for both long-time fans and newcomers to the series.
